Materials & Care Guide

We seek to provide pieces that are made to last. Our jewellery are made from 925 Silver or Stainless Steel with 14K/ 18K gold plating, which are rust-free materials and easy to take care of. Proper caring and maintenance are necessary for any jewellery to last years.

925 Sterling Silver

925 Silver is also known as Sterling Silver. It’s an alloy made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. Here are the benefits:

  • Gentle to skin, it is a non-reactive metal which is also ideal for sensitive skin.
  • It is durable and last for a very long time.
  • Easy to shape into finer details due to its softness and flexibility
  • Simple maintenance as you can polish with cloth and it will shine like never before.

Sterling silver is waterproof and shower friendly because it won't rust, so rest assured that you can wear them daily. However it is subject to oxidation overtime (colour dull or darkened) which caused by exposure to body moisture and air. Luckily, sterling silver is a solid metal, so you can polish and clean it and have it looking just as good as when you first got it.

Jewellery Care tips:

  • Try to keep your jewellery dry after contact with water.
  • Avoid contact with perfume, harsh chemicals and hot tubs.
  • When not in use, gently wipe off any dirt and store in an air-tight bag or jewellery box
  • For deep cleanse, apply a small amount of toothpaste on the oxidize spots for minutes, then gently rub with a soft cloth.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is highly durable, allowing it to withstand wear and tear. It resists corrosion and oxidation, which means it will not rust, tarnish, or turn your skin green when in contact with water or sweat. Stainless steel is hypoallergenic and most people will not have reaction or issues with stainless steel. For stainless steel in silver chain, it is their base metal colour so they will never discolour.

Gold Plating

Gold plating on stainless steel / sterling silver is the process in which a piece of metal is electroplated with a thick layer of 14K – 18K gold. It is normal for the gold plating to wear off over the years due to many factors such as exposure to sweat or chemical products on skin then revealing the metal underneath. However, with some proper cares, your gold plating pieces can last for years.
